sudah beberapa bulan ini suka banget sama "PAYUNG TEDUH"
hha kalian kena payung teduh ?? kalo kalian pecinta flok,  jazz , kroncong , kalian pasti sangat mengenal mereka-mereka ini.
     saya perkenalkan siapa payung teduh.

Mohammad Istiqamah Djamad

Born in Makassar, January 24^th 1984. Is has played music since he was little. He went to college at PNJ-UI majoring in Teknik Elektro but didn’t graduate. He then got a scholarship from Yamaha Master Course Academy to study there until he graduated. Is is now a vocal instructor as well as guitar instructor at Yamaha while being active in Pagupon theatres and dramas. He also teaches acting, dancing, music, and vocal for 28 Senior High School’s students as well as directing annual drama performances for them. Is musical style is heavily influenced by Cake, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Chris Cornell. He plays football, basketball, swimming, and also a huge fan of instant noodles

 Comi Aziz Kariko

Born on February 24^th 1984. Comi—his childhood name—is an alumnus of Bina Nusantara UniversityUniversity of Indonesia. While studying at UI, Comi was also active in Pagupon Theater as a supporting musician at which he met Is. After finishing his master’s degree, Comi returned to his first University to become a lecturer there and has taught English in Binus ever since. When he isn’t giving lectures in classrooms, he fills his spare time as a bass instructor at Willy Sumantri Music School. Comi is a fan of Brazilian Jiujitsu and practices it regularly at a local dojo near his house. He plays basketball together with Is and also have been a hardcore videogamer ever since he was a child. majoring on English Literature. He then continued his study to earn a master’s degree majoring on Cultural Studies at the

 Ivan Penwyn

Born on  December 31th 1985 An ex-student of University of Indonesia majoring on Philosophy, Ivan is the shyest Payung Teduh personnel among the others.

Alejandro Saksakame

Born April 2^nd 1984, Cito is his nickname. He loves the animal kingdom, preferably reptiles such as snakes and dinosaurs (if they weren’t extinct) . He has more knowledge about the animal kingdom other than about music. His journey with Payung Teduh started when he met Is in 2002, at which they formed a band for quite some time. Currently Cito is a student of Padjajaran University and also a graphic desainer. He’s a big fan of a progressive rock band Dream Theater (contradict with the way he plays in Payung Teduh) which led him to formed a progressive rock band with Is along with some other friends called Mirror. He thinks that his biggest challenge in playing music is when he needs to adapt his style of drumming with Payung Teduh.

         " Payung Teduh was created by two close friends that used most of their time in playing music at the canteen of FIB as well as providing background music for the Pagupon Theater of Indonesia University. These two close friends, Is and Comi, played their music anywhere from the canteen of FIB UI, hangout places inside the campus complex, to the lake side near UI’s Center Administration Building. Their togetherness in playing music has been supported by friends around them which then lead to the creation of a duo that eventually became the next big thing at UI.      

Payung Teduh was then born in late 2007 with their first formation, Is on vocal & guitar, and Comi on Double Bass. After playing duo for some time, it was necessary for them to improve their exploration in their music as well as improving their stage performance. In doing this, they recruited Cito as a drummer and Ivan as a guitalele player in 2010. Angin Pujaan Hujan was the first song that eventually known as the signature composition of Payung Teduh’s style of music. As time went by, they wrote new songs such as Kucari Kamu, Amy, Untuk Perempuan Yang Sedang Dalam Pelukan.  They also played songs written by a colleague/mentor Catur Ari Wibowo who is also a director of Pagupon Theater that wrote songs such as Resah, Cerita Tentang Gunung dan Laut. Amalia Putri, a good friend of them, also wrote songs like Malam and Tidurlah that were then added into their album. Payung Teduh then recorded these songs and released their first indie album in late 2010.  

In this first album, it can be said that the musical characteristic of Payung Teduh is like the music in the 60’s with a blend of keroncong and jazz music. Whenever they were asked what kind of musical genre that Payung Teduh played, it was up to the listeners to define what kind of genre that they played, in a sense that they won’t stop playing music in just one genre, but in many other genres while still maintaining the strong characteristic that they already have." nah , kira-kira macam itulah tentang payung teduh ,,maaf menggunakan bahasa kampung saya ( bengkulu ) hhha, ini versi indonesia nya deh , alisnya biasa aja tak perl naik-naik macam itu , itu jangan manyun juga bibir , sok mikir pula, hhha peace brod sis.

" Payung Teduh lahir dari dua orang sahabat yang berprofesi sebagai pemusik di Teater Pagupon yang senang nongkrong bersama di kantin FIB (Fakultas Ilmu Budaya) Universitas Indonesia,  mereka adalah Is dan Comi  yang senang bermain musik bersama di kantin, selasar gedung kampus, tepi danau hingga event – event di luar kampus. Secara tidak sadar kebersamaan mereka dalam bermain musik telah menguatkan karakter bermusik mereka dan telah disadari bagi orang-orang sekitar yang sering menyaksikan mereka bermain musik bersama. 

Payung Teduh terbentuk pada akhir 2007 dengan formasi awal Is dan Comi, sadar akan eksplorasi bunyi dan performa panggung pada tahun 2008 Payung teduh mengajak Cito untuk bergabung bersama sebagai drummer lalu mengajak Ivan sebagai guitalele player pada tahun 2010. Angin Pujaan Hujan ialah lagu pertama yang memunculkan warna mereka sendiri. Seiring berjalannya waktu tercipta pula lagu-lagu lainnya seperti Kucari Kamu, Amy, Untuk Perempuan Yang Sedang Dalam Pelukan, juga termasuk karya-karya dari pementasan teater bersama Catur Ari Wibowo seperti Resah, Cerita Tentang Gunung dan Laut, serta karya Amalia Puri yang berjudul Tidurlah dan Malam. Dan pada akhirnya Payung Teduh memutuskan untuk membuat album indie pertamanya yang dirilis dipenghujung 2010.

Musik yang dimainkan oleh Payung Teduh  tidak memiliki batasan tersendiri,  musik yang dimainkan oleh Payung Teduh yaitu musik Payung Teduh itu sendiri. Pada album pertama ini bisa dibilang karakter musik yang dibawakan seperti musik di era golden 60’s dengan  balutan keroncong dan jazz. Dan jika ditanya jenis musik apa yang diusung oleh Payung Teduh, maka Payung Teduh menyerahkan sepenuhnya kepada pendengar. Dalam pengertian bahwa payung teduh tidak akan hanya berhenti di satu gendre tertentu, namun yang pasti tetap bermusik dengan ciri yang sudah mereka miliki."
